How the???

How is it that I work out consistently and eat mostly healthy but yet I keep getting sick. How is this? Maybe because I'm not a clean freak and need to Lysol my house more? Maybe I need to step up my hand washing? My hands are so dry and cracked right now from washing through that it almost doesn't seem worth it. One of my twins was diagnosed with a little bit of pneumonia on Friday, the other twin with an upper respiratory infection, and now I have my appointment today. Ugh. Whenever I'm sick, I can't run because of my asthma so I'm slowly losing what I've worked the last 3 months to gave back. I was drinking EmergenC yesterday along with sucking zinc lozenges but I feel worse today! Grrrrr

Probiotics?
This has been the first winter I've not even had a cold yet. I got a flu shot. (Last year was cancer and several illnesses with it). But this year so far, smooth sailing in the sickness dept.
I take a lot of supplements.
And I take probiotics and I eat as pristine as I can with an occasional blip.
Good luck. Illness can be very discouraging.

I hope you all feel better soon.

Handwashing is soooo important. I also lysol my door knobs every day.

okay, you might not like it...most people roll their eyes at me...stop having dairy. Just have fortified soy or almond milk, no cheese. Take a calcium supplement if you need to. I stopped having dairy last February and was not sick at all in 2008. (other than maybe a week with a sore throat) prior to that, I got sick every other month.

Oh, I feel your pain. I woke up last Wednesday feeling horrible, and am finally coming out of it. Just nasty head congestion and coughing up gunk. I've been using Emergen-C, too, but I sure can't run because I can't breathe.

I hope you feel better soon. Oh, and when I feel like this, I definitely avoid dairy (other than yogurt). It helps with the mucous.

I have to say that I might agree with Penny. I stopped dairy this year and haven't gotten sick once (except for two days of the slightest cold). Not to mention, getting rid of dairy could also help your asthma.
