Muscles-Better...Attitude-Crapola

My muscles feel much better today and handled running great. Today for my training I ran a 2 mile warm up, did 7 1:00 aerobic sprints which added up to a little over a mile with recovery time, and a 2 mile cool down. I was DRIPPING with sweat and loved it. I know I worked then. I am really glad I rested yesterday.

So as most of you know, due to two very healthy twins and a weight loss, I had a tummy tuck June 23. They removed a pound of skin so naturally, I expected to see myself weighing 1 pound less on the scale. That has NOT EVER HAPPENED. In fact, I have been up roughly 10 lbs. since this surgery. Could I blame it on fluid retention post surgery? Sure. Could I blame it on being on partial bed rest for 6 weeks? Perhaps. But whatever it is I have a frickin muffin top that I haven't had in a year and a half. My frickin jeans are tight and have hang over. What the hell??? Even now, I've been back to working out regularly for 3 weeks and has it showed on the scale? NO!!!! Am I allowing myself to eat more since I'm working out more and maybe that's it? NO!!!! So why is the weight sticking to me? It's pissing me off. I'd kick it's ass if it wasn't planted onto mine! GGrrrrr is about all I can say right now. Guh to the errrrrrrrrrrrrr. What's funny too is that I'm EXHAUSTED tonight and all I did most of the day was sit my ever growing ass and talk or listen to people talk. I'm glad I ran in the AM.

Sorry about the frustration you're experiencing, but I'm sure it's just swelling and stuff. Roni over at Roni's Weigh had a tummy tuck done a couple of years ago and I remember her experiencing the same issues.

Your training is INTENSE! You're warm-up is what I am now just able to do...2 miles. But then again, you've been at this a lot longer than me. I hope to get to where you are eventually.

I love reading your posts...the part tonight about how you'd kick the weight's ass if it weren't stuck to you cracked me up. lol... I'd like to kick the remaining 10 pounds' ass I have left, too. lol.... You're doing great...I'd love to look like you! Pseudo muffin top and all. ; )

Hang in there girlie! I so know how frustrating it can get. Remember the key though...you gotta eat enough to lose....I know, I know, Preachin to the choir.

Great job on the workout! I don't know what to tell you about all of your eating well and working out, I have always wondered why I can't look like Gabrielle Reese with the amount I workout and how good I eat. Genetics?? I'm trying to live with it (well now I'm trying not to worry about it!) Thanks for the tips on staying home and things. Eek. I am kind of set on 6 weeks. Maybe I'll take longer, but being at home just isn't for me, I am really adamant about not staying home and being equal with my husband. Is that selfish? I know so much will change when the baby arrives but gah!!

girl, you know you look great! Are you still within a healthy range? You may have a lot more muscle than before. Maybe a body fat test will put you at ease?

I swear the stomach is one of the most stubborn places to lose weight. I never used to have any flab on my abs and now I'm trying my hardest for a slender middle and my abs are rebelling! I feel your frustration.

Great job on the run today. That sounds like a great way to get a good running workout in.

Whenever you have (almost any kind of) surgery and your lymphatic system is disturbed, you run the risk of developing what's called 'secondary lymphedema'. (Google search time). Ask your doctors. (Of course many of them say, "oh, no, this isn't lymphedema!" because they don't want to think *they* had anything to do with lymphedema and many of them are ignorant of this.) I'm not saying this is what you have developed, the "swelling" could be temporary and common with tummy tucks. Sometimes you can wear a spanx type garment and help push some of that fluid outta there.
I am not a doctor. Just a patient. :-)
